On draught at the brewery. Served in a teku glass. I let it warm for about 10 minutes but the temperature was still lower than I’d prefer. It pours nearly black in color. The modest, ecru-colored cap dissipated quickly leaving a tiny ring. Its smell includes dark chocolate, freshly-brewed coffee, smoky malt, and a whiff of black cherry. As it warmed in the glass the faint smell of red wine emerged. The taste opens with bakers chocolate and earthy char, along with black cherry that is both tart and sweet. What sets this Stout apart are the red wine notes which arise as it warms and breathes. Don’t drink it too cold; it’s taste develops as it warms. The mouth feel is soft and viscous with low carbonation, and the 10% AVB doesn’t overpower. Stormtrooper of Love is well-crafted and enjoyable. I bought a bottle to take home and will drink it at a more appropriate temperature.

Lost Cabin Storm Troopers In Love BA RIS aged in wine barrels, 9.9% ABV, 57 IBU. Pours black with a one finger tan head. Nose is wine/jam, taste follows, slight sweetness, and quite bitter, with a jam aftertaste. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.
