Dark amber, approaching light brown. Clear with a steady stream of upward bubbles. Superb, tight bubbled head which was served with a dome. Nice blanketing lace.
Good hop presence but the malt portion is distinct with a dry autumnal leaf smell. The combination works and provides some uniqueness as well.
The flavor starts off "red" with darker toast and a mildly burnt background. The hop is more straight forward, coming across like black pepper. Lengthy aftertaste but well blended. Full bodied with ample carbonation.

Mahogany in color. Clear in appearance. Bitter for the sake of being bitter. Not very flavorful. Rye spiciness. Out of balance and fairly terrible.
