This is not a terrible beer, but there is no way this remotely resembles a Czech pilsener.
Visually, this is very nice. Clear, red, minimal head.
The aroma is straight up earthy beet. Nothing in any way resembles the bright floral aromas of the style it is called.
The taste follows suite. The beet simply overwhelms this beer, leaving nothing to indicate that the base is a Czech pilsener.
So...it is pretty to look at, but hopelessly misses the mark on any of the style attributes. I feel, because it is so far off base, that my score is generous. Interesting to try, but if the beet addition is simply to get the frankly stunning color while covering up anything resembling the stated style, it seems to me a gimmick. Dial it down, balance it out, and maybe this could be a decent riff of a classic style. Not sure who ticked these, but these scores are insane.
