It took me a second to get that they were imitating the state song... Big cream colored head and copper hue pour forth from a tall boy can. Nose is mostly rye and spice, so that checks out. The rye spice is present along with hops and a little bread note but no real surprises. Texture does add a dollop of creaminess. A touch of alcohol burn in the aftertaste is forgettable. Not awful for the style but a little disappointing after a great start.

Taster flight at brewery. Full golden pour, small white head. Grainy aroma, notes of rye, musty. Taste offers mild sweetness, rye funk, oily feel, rye bread.

16 oz can
pours dark copper in color, thin cream colored head. earthy, spicy rye aroma, a bit of citrus in there too. similar favors in the taste, but fairly sweet, too much so for me. medium bodied.

Deep amber, bordering on brown, chill haze, nice off-white head, decent retention, rings of lace.
Floral and pine aromas, a bit of citrus. Some bready and caramel malts underneath
Bready malt. Spicy. Resinous hops. Grapefruit rind. A throwback.
Light bodied, good carbonation.
Better as an American Rye Ale or however you want to call it than as an American IPA. Not something I'd drink a lot of, but I like it.

Very palette wrecking bitter finish. Ok beer but needs more malt and sweetness.
