The label reflects a design similar to a Hamm's or Piel's from back in the day. The flavor on this one grew on me, as it is a little off at first. Eventually a bread note, slathered in yeast and earth tones, a kiss of noble hops, and a grimy, grainy aftertaste that shows resin through to the finish. Texture is appropriately thick considering how much heavy lifting this is doing. Strong flavor and texture makes this almost reminiscent of an English IPA. Definitely interesting and worth a try for the adventurous.

Poured from 12-ounce can into a rocks glass(!) Clear golden color, with a thin white evanescent head. It was uphill from there. Malt-forward aromas and flavors of light bread and caramel, balanced by grassy and herbal hop notes and lots of pleasant bitterness on the palate. Medium mouthfeel, with a crisp and ever-so-slightly astringent finish. Very clean and good depth of flavor. Highly recommended.
