A: Clear copper to golden color, 1/2 inch off white head, spotty lacing
S: Caramely malt notes, spices
T: Sweetness from the malts right up front which gives way to a spiceiness, I get the fruity esters the can mentions and the wood as well
M: Medium
O: This beer is definetly for a distiguished more refined pallet. I got it from a friend that now lives in the area of the brewery and he hated it. Its not my favorite but I can see where some would appreciate it.

It pours a medium amber color with a slight haze producing a fluffy, off white head that persists for a few minutes.
A silky soft mouth-feel with herbal hints, biscuit.
Unique wood aroma and taste. Not smokey, but definitely wood.
Balanced with nice complexities.

Appearance: Pours a delicately hazed, coppery hued ale with a quickly dissentigrating, white head.
Smell: Sugary, liberally dusted in ground spices. Lightly toasted bread, a hint of blonde caramel. Rather large coconut note, like catchin' a whiff of suntan lotion. Medium degree of fruitiness beyond that strong coconut character.
Taste: Sweet, spiced, toasted candi sugars with a light caramelly quality. Touch of pears, figs. The quality of the wood aging when juxtaposed with the yeast gives it a very distinct piquancy with a bold coconut flavor splashed with a few drops of vanilla liqueur. Tangy spicy-sweet, hinting of mace on the smooth finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Interesting. Southern B houses a very intriguing wood character, one which I'm surprised isn't more prominently mentioned on the can. What gives, Archie?

Too much coconut scent and taste for me. Lots of potential IMO, but not my favorite in this style at all.

From a tap at the 2018 ATL Winter Beer Festival. Revisited from a can in March 2019.
Some coconut along with the expected dark dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor follows. Exceptionally harmonious and well balanced. Lightly sweet.
Overall: Excellent.
