Canned in a stubby little 330ml crafty craft can and delivered as part of Beer 52's Northern Ireland pack and downgraded to an export stout at
Pours a very very dark brown body with good tan head
Aroma is a touch of Nordic ammonia liquorice, but backed up with full roastiness
Flavour is dry rye and do or die roast, big arabic coffee

Frederiksberg 18/4 2024. 40 cl from tap at Tap 21, H.C Ørstedsvej, Frb. C.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white head. Settles as a thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with earthy notes and a whiff of citrus fruit. Dark roasted malts, leather and lemon.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling and lively texture.
Flavor is medium intense with medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Pretty light with a citric streak.

330ml bottle bought from Gapwines, Belfast
Poured a deep dark brown / almost completely black colour... Big mocha tan head poured very tight, thick and foamy with a meringue like top.. this faded slowly to good one finger covering... some decent lacing clings to the glass throughout...
Aroma - Lots of rich toasted chocolate malts mixed with strong sweet coffee notes, lots of cocoa, chocolate cake mix, good roasted nuttiness, nice dark brown sugar / molasses sweetness, light fruits (blackcurrents, prunes), earthy, some sooty traces...
Taste - Pretty much as above with only spicy peppery hops maybe slightly more noticeable, some earthy notes, lactose, toasted brown bread, faint trace of alcohol, sweet coffee... good bitterness coming through from the roasted malts...
Feel - Fairly smooth and creamy... medium / full bodied... at 8.0% this is a dangerously drinkable brew...
Overall - A supremely well balanced, full flavoured and drinkable stout... one of the best beers in Northern Ireland at the minute in my opinion
