2017 edition, 12 oz. can.
Jet black with mahogany edges, thin layer of tan foam that remains only for a minute, no lacing.
Aroma is rich with woody barrel notes, dark chocolate, toasted almonds, and charred bread crust.
Taste is a touch boozy, sweet bourbon, chocolate and vanilla notes, thins out a bit in the end with a light soy note.
Aftertaste lingers a long time, black malt char and carob nuttiness. Body is on the lighter side of medium.
Fairly smooth with a creamy texture in spite of the abv. Overall a nice BA imperial stout.

Let me start by saying that this is probably Varuna Reserve 2017. This one comes in a 12oz can, not a bomber. I don't feel it's my place to list a new beer, the brewer should. That being said, he we go.
This baby pours a very dark brown and an a minimal head that's gone in an instant, no lacing at all, but the side of the glass has an oily film residue. Aroma is roasted malts, bourbon, ash, leather and chocolate. Flavors match the aroma. This has a medium to heavy body, minimal carbonation, and a bit of an alcohol burn. I'll head back to the beer store tomorrow hoping to get some too age. Awfully good stuff!

Taste: Complex, dark malts some kick but with smooth finish with this bourbon version. Woody oak, boozy nose. Black and opaque, with smaller head and some delicate lattice of lace. Medium body. Mellow easy drinker. 50 IBUs

Nice Solid Heaven Hills Barrel Aged beer with sweet, boozy bourbon smell . Brewer said it will be back next year.
