DATE: December 25, 2018... OCCASION: Christmas 2018 almost in the books, we unwind with The Goonies and Legos... GLASSWARE: Victory Nonick... pours a dark chestnut brown body, translucent enough to allow the sight of small bubbles floating lazily into its quarter-inch, creamy white head... nice pepper, rye and a wonderfully understated bourbon spiciness, toasted caramel malts, light toffee, and citrus elements... this sips easily and well, with activity at the teeth and a lingering warmth at the throat... this is a good companion for a Christmas long view, as its ABV weds with a smooth, punchy mouthfeel to encourage the next drink... the bourbon is more pronounced in the flavor profile, with lemon, orange, and pepper also driving the experience.... the toffee and caramel also work to sweeten the deal... a winner for Buck Hill, and one I would seek out again...
