DATE: September 6, 2019... OCCASION: just finished grading Bio and Forensics (!) assignments... GLASSWARE: Tiffany glass mug... this comes after a tour courtesy of my former student Dan, who was informative and rightfully proud of the brewery's new back patio area... its immediate snow-white head softly settles to a hazy smear... a dark amber body swirls with energy in the form of tiny bubbles... the color is pure autumn... caramel and toffee make a sweet one/two combo, with toasted bread malts warming the aroma... light citric notes, as well as herbs and tea leaves... creamy, medium-bodied sipper that doesn't show its 5.7 ABV at all... smooth and lightly carbonated... the hops are suggested in the profile--light lemon, mostly--with an earthy, vegetable, melding on the caramel and toffee... a strong, reasonable Oktoberfest at a location that is a great place to enjoy food an beer...
