Easily the best IPA I've had from these folks, on tap at the source. Never really been too impressed since call it a day came out, this one is solid. Have never seen the cans in any local bottle shops unfortunately.

Dated 6/28/19 on the bottom of the can, just under 5 weeks since brewing.

Pours a murky dark orange-straw with 2.5 fingers of dense pillowy white head. Nose of toasted gingerbread, slight bubblegum, resin, papaya, coriander, guava, earthiness and over-ripened apricot. Lots of hearty/deep flavors. Taste follows the nose with additional dank forest floor notes. An ipa with both a hefty malt and deep tropical fruit. Smooth medium body, low+ bitterness, medium- sweetness. This one threw me off at first with it's nose, almost unlike an ipa, but after tasting and a few sips, I actually thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of dense, deep flavors.

Taste just like all world class beer but cheaper. Very fruity in the mouth for the beer. I’m surprised It doesn’t have world class rating. Maybe because not many beer snobs have tried I.T

From the one pint can that was packaged 9/22/17. Sampled on Oct 21, 2017 so just under a month old.

The look of the pour is what one would expect from the style with is slightly hazy light amber color under a long lasting, foamy cream colored head that laces as it fades.

Nice aroma of tropical fruit, orange, tangerine, citrus, and even a hint of peat moss. Bread crust underneath.

The body is medium to full and it is chewy in texture.

The bitterness jumps forth in the taste after the orange and fruity characters start things off. Clean, crisp finish. A very good IPA offering from Moat Mountain.

16 oz can. Canned on 9/22/17 " #1st flavah. Opened on 10/6/17

Only a slight haze inside the white gold color. Very slight amber highlights. A very active appearance, featuring a dense, rocky and clumpu all-white foam. Chunky and sticky lacing. Very active, impressive head and an unfiltered and healthy look.

A sweet and tropical fruity hop aroma is very pungent. Subtle Spices and earthy herbs take on a nice balance within the hoppy nose. Bananas and cream, lemmon zest are also detected. Pineapple and spice rack combo is always a nice feature from the hop aromatics. Overall, a very pleasant nose.

This is my kinda flavah!! A classic New England style approach= Fruity!! with herbal, earthy and spice mixed over pineapple and a variety of light, tropical fruits from the complex hops and light, crisp malted barley. The tropical fruitiness goes for the body and feel as well. Light, crisp then very juicy with a slight, earthy, peppery kick in the middle that finishes rather smooth and silky.

A sharp, peppery pineapple, black pepper and golden grains and a blend of earthy tones continue with multiple layers and bright fruits, all melding together to create a rather excellent and deep hop dominated flavor profile. The light, crisp, golden malt..yet smooth,..almost pilsner-like effect gives off excellent flavor and rounds out the balance to fit the style....and MY taste buds perfectly.

I've always felt that the most impressive aspects of the New England style IPA's..i.e..Heady topper, Sip of sunshine, green..?.etc is this, light and malty effect with juicy and multi-level layers of hop complexity that makes even the 7 or 8 % abv ...incredibly easy to drink and enjoy. I think Moat understands this and executes their most current offerings exactly in this fashion. Moat is easily one of the few seriously impressive breweries creating excellent IPA's here in New Hampshire.
