On-tap over at Sebago's for their Full Moon Cask Night. Probably the first time Moat Mountain has been inside the state of Maine so it was quite the treat to try, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the style.
Pours a light amber color, decent amount of head considering it's from the cask, no lacing.
Smell isn't as strong with the smoke as I thought it would be (which is nice, it not being overpowering), the sweet malt melds nicely with an undertone of smoke.
Taste has low carbonation, the smoked malt has a slightly larger presence than the aroma suggested but isn't overpowering and doesn't take of cigarettes, the light sweetness helps cut any harshness.
Since it's not really my thing, I'm glad I only got a half pint, just makes me want to try more Moat Mountain though.
