This Vienna-style lager is the big brother to our Pilsner, although maltier and less bitter. This beer is amber in color with a toasted and nutty body. Noble German hops complete this well-balanced lager.

On tap at The American Craft Beer Fest Yesterday.
Fruity bready aroma and flavor, not horrible but boring.

@ Moat Mountain Smokehouse
Gold with a meringue white head that lasts until about half glass. Moat Mt. usually has a pretty bad pour but I think this was their best.
Grainy, toasted aroma. Clean malt up front with toasted grain finish. Mild springtime floral hop. Very clean.
Nice post hike beverage with my little sister.

Review from BeerAdvocate magazine Vol. II Issue X:
Bright brassy amber color with a solid three fingers of head that soon drop down to a thin but sticky lace. The aroma dons a heavy stack of sweet toasted malt that gets coated by a slightly oily herbal hop, very clean. True lager crispness here makes sure "refreshing" is at the top of its list. Medium body. Slight oily hop flavor opens with a firm bitterness and herbal/spicy hop flavor, which grows in the middle to the finish. The hop finish does show a slight fruit twang, not citric but more of a soft, flowery, pollen fruitiness. Maltiness comes across with a clean toasted grain, mild caramel, very bready and with more toasted grain in the drying finish.
Lo and behold, great lagers do exist in northern New England, and a Vienna Lager at that. Great enough to make just about any beer geek giddy, and approachable enough that nearly any beer drinker would enjoy. As for us session beer lovers, this is very close to beer heaven.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a mild caramel malt with some balancing noble hop spice.
The taste consisted of a smoky doughiness with hints of spicy hop.
The mouthfeel was of average fullness with a biscuity finish.
Overall a very drinkable vienna lager. A nice example of the style.

Had on tap at Moat Mtn in February. Copper bronze in color, it came topped with a white frothy head. I thought the aroma was of sweet grainy malt. I found the taste pleasant, slightly grainy, but still satisfying. I enjoyed the fine carbonation. Mediium motuhfeel.

This Vienna style lager has a clear, medium amber color, with a short, fine white head and nice lace sticking in the glass. Very, very mild nose, and just a touch toasty. Medium body-wise, though a bit prickly-rough on the tongue (seems like many Moat biers have a bit more carbonation than elsewhere....). Toasty malt flavor leads off, though not as much as I'd prefer. A clean tasting bier, with the hops providing a somewhat mild fruitiness at the finish, similar to an english pale ale, oddly enough. Prosit!!
