Located just outside of Cedarburg WI at Five Corners on Highway 60 next to Cedar Crest Ice Cream, our craft brewery offers ample parking to get out of the main drag, while still being close to the heart of everything.

The brainchild of a locally-raised homebrewer, The Fermentorium opened its doors early in 2016. Currently offering 24 beers on tap, the brewery also distributes to restaurants and bars all over Southeastern Wisconsin.

The main street of Cedarburg looks like it belongs on a postcard, and one of the reasons why the town can become busy on warm weekends. Just a few miles north on the road and a right turn away is The Fermentorium, located near the edge of town. Large interior and taproom, plus a private room which is nestled in the brewhouse and can be reserved ahead of time. At the end of the bar is a ten foot section of vinyl records for sale, while at the other end rests beer related merchandise (glassware, swag, refrigerated 4-packs to go). It can get busy inside, but on a pleasant Sunday afternoon while an Oktoberfest event was happening in town, got onto the quieter side.

There's always a great selection of different beers available to drink, as there are 24 different taps, each one with a small chalk colored illustration above the taps and doubling as a beer menu. Paper menus are fine too, and they are here. Expect many variants of IPA and fruited beers, although you will find other styles such as Vienna lager or barrel aged tripel depending on how the beer menu rotates. Another specialty Fermentorium does is during the colder months when they spin out different variants of double stout; which is better peppermint or toffee in such a beer? I like how I can order half pours along with full pours, and their standard pint glass looks choice as well as adding texture when I snap photos of beer.

I like coming here. It's even better when paired with a visit to the middle of Cedarburg before or after.

This is a nice taproom. Showed up a few minutes before opening on a Saturday, but as soon as the bartender heard me pull on the door she let me in. They have 24 selections, rotating throughout the year, all very good. The bartenders are very attentive and will not let your glass run dry. Overall, I highly recommend a visit.

Out in the country, building sits on a large grass lot with plenty of parking. Tap room is roomy this extra space in brew room if they need it. Great chalk art for their beers on tap blackboard. Our bartender was nice. Selection of their beers was large. Good beers that we sampled.
