Bottle: Poured a clear golden color Kolsch with a large white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nice cereal notes with light residual sugar notes with very subtle butter notes. Taste is a mix of cereal notes with light residual sugar notes and even subtler butter notes with light fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. I was expecting a good take on the style but was absolutely surprise at the quality of this offering.

A:
Pours a clear, pale straw with a finger and a half of styrofoam head. That ends up as a solid film with concentric circles of lacing. (3.75)
S:
Spicy hops, honey and rich toasted malts, a little bit of a musty twang as it warms a bit. (3.75)
T:
Rich, malty, crisp beer with a light green twang that suggests tartness (from the malt). (3.75)
M:
Crisp, refreshing, drinkable, supple feel, light with light carbonation. (4)
O:
Decent Kölsch, especially considering the lack of many others.
It is pretty much to style in every way and is quite enjoyable. There is a little Bud-like green apple twang that I am not the biggest fan of personally (more than in other examples I've tried) but it is good and none of that prevented me from drinking it. It has a nice, layered malt profile that is probably the highlight of the flavor for me. Otherwise a textbook beer, which seems to be these guys' MO. (3.75)
