A:
PoursĀ a pitch black sludge with a hint of ruby at the edges, perfect two fingers of khaki cream that drops to a film. Okay retention; rings of lacing. (3.75)

S:
Chocolate, coffee, creamy sweetness, cherry cordial sweet-tang. (4)

T:
Black forest cake, just a little roasty bitterness. (4)

M:
Thin body with fizzy carbonation with a lingering chocolatey finish. (3.5)

O:
A pretty tasty, only semi-quirky beer.
While it is not the best milk stout I've ever had, it is a nice take and manages to make a cherry milk stout (something I ordinarily wouldn't seek out) that still tastes like a beer despite really giving off a black forest cake vibe. As always, it is a well-made beer with everything in its right place, however if it were a little heavier with kind of a velvety feel (or even on nitro) it would risk really being something else. Almost no head and little lacing. Aromas of milk chocolat and light caramel. Pretty straighforward. Lacsk a bit of complexity on the nose. The taste is pretty sweet at the beginning, with some notes of chocolat and a lactose sweetness. Some roasted malts come through at the end. It's well balanced between the roasted malts and the sweet chocolat. I can also feel some coffee bitterness at the end of the sip. It's a good beer, if you want something reconforting, but not too complex or too rich.
