A new one to me.. So here goes it.
Pours a clear golden body with disappointing head, retention poor.
Aroma is very good, a light sour mash in the saison tradition, very appealing.
Taste is equally good, a lovely texture coating the tongue with a malty caramel. Up front it is sharp and fruity, leaving a deeper aftertaste more akin to a winter brew, with figs and spice.
Feel is good, easy to consume...a bit too easy given the 8% guts. Nothing offensive at all, really does make you reach for another swig.
Overall, very solid and in keeping with Belgian tradition, if only this brew had a decent foaming head and a solid retention we'd be in serious end of ratings....as is very good.
