This is our fresh take on the quintessential Norwegian pilsner. The result is a crisp lager with a smooth balance of floral hops, aromatic malts and a clean finish. This is the taste of Oslo.

This beer represents our big small city. You tackle it in no time but enjoy it for a lifetime. This is our take on the quintessential Norwegian style pilsner. The result is a crisp lager with a smooth balance of floral hops, aromatic malts and a clean finish. Pils for thrills.
Appearance: Poured about 12 oz into the 0.5 liter large flute glass, yielding a bubbly creamy white head that lasts a while over and unfiltered yellow straw base with medium plus sustained carbonation. Clumpy soapy thick creamy lacing throughout. 4.0
Aroma: Strong cracker, pepper and salt, mineral water, lemongrass. Enjoying what I’m gathering. 4.0
Taste: Flavor profile somewhat consistent, but far less strong than the aroma. Salty cracker, light pepper and mineral water. Not sure if the six months at room temps caused this to fade. 3.25
Mouthfeel: Sustained lightly prickly carbonation, , drinks light and easy. A bit salty, salty cracker finish. Lightly dry, enough hops and dullness to quell any unnecessary sweetness. 3.25
Overall: Would try this once more if I found a fresh can or draft, but this is just a meh pour in the current condition. 3.25

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, mild grain and grassy hops; somewhat muted. Flavor is pilsner malt, grassy and floral hops, crackers, hay, light grapefruit; floral and spicy hops finish with moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Not sure I've had a Nordic style pilsner before, but this does follow the grassy and floral hop character with crisp pilsner malt that is supposed to characterize this style. I like the light floral notes that modify the usual noble hop profile of most pilsners. Clean finish, but flavor drops off a little leaving the hop bitterness a bit stark. A satisfying if not remarkable European pilsner.

Such a delightful find! This is a really well made pale lager. Billed as "Nordic Pilsner", it is very close to the style.
It has a gorgeous rich gold color and some serious foam. The aroma is rich and bready and summer grassy.
The taste starts out crisp and extremely pleasant. Then it mellows quite a bit. And then, after a few sips, it develops a nice elegant hop finish.
Worthy!

Picked up a single can at Bradfords Liquors in Plymouth, Massachusetts for about four dollars. My first brew reviewed from these guys. No canned on date. Solid.

I wouldn’t say that I was a sucker born today, but the international flare on this one intrigued me. And I suppose I was hoping for “Oslo, August 31st” in a can (peep it, my children). But nah, it’s not like that. If I literally was in Oslo drinking this, I think I’d be stoked. But I’m not. I’m in Southern California drinking this average to slightly syrupy swill.

Not sure what differentiates a Nordic Pilsner from, say, a German one, but Pilsners should have stuff in common regardless of where they are brewed.
Poured golden amber and transparent with a tall off white head that dissipated in reasonable time.
Aroma is mild with grass and biscuits and floral hops, or some combination like that. Really pleasant.
The taste is excellent, biscuits and grassy flavors meld with the floral hops and very little bitterness. Quite tasty!
The feel is ideal for quaffing large quantities, and the low ABV will let you.
Good beer, glad I took the chance on it,

Brewed at DESTIHL in IL, can from Mongers.
A mildly hazy golden orange with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing. The nose if floral and spicy, with a mild perfume like character, rather unique for the style. There is also a noticeable malt character, lightly toasty and biscuit, a little aromatic, to go with the straw malt character. The palate opens a little sweet with dough, a biscuit and caramel malt character and a floral hop flavor. Mildly spicy as well. A little sweet on the finish with a drying, fruity floral flavor. A touch watery on the mid-palate. Decent.

500 ml can, from Holdbart, Klepp. Brewed at Arendals Bryggeri for Oslo Brewing Co. ABV is 4.7%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma, grassy notes. Citric flavour, quite crisp despite some residual sweetness. Moderate herbal hops in the finish. Better than I feared.
