This hop harvest we’ve managed to get our hands on freshly picked Galaxy™ hops from HPA’s Rostrevor hop gardens. To showcase its powerful flavour and aroma we’ve steeped wet cones in a dry West Coast style malt base and then added freshly dried whole cone hops to the fermenter.

Purchased at the Bells Beach Brewing Bar in Geelong in September 2024 and drunk a couple of weeks later.
L: Crystal clear, washed-out golden yellow, with a thin, bright-white head. Oodles of tiny bubbles rush up the glass.
S: The nose has a touch of lime and passionfruit, with a small amount of darkness lurking in the background, but none of it pops as expected from a modern IPA, especially one dripping with galaxy hops.
T: The taste is very muted, quite watery, and touch grassy, and as mentioned with the aroma, the expression of the hops is far less than expected. The finish is weak and thin.
M: The wateriness of the taste profile crosses over into the mouthfeel, which is similarly thin and watery.
O: This one is disappointing and does not meet the typically high standard of Bells Beach Brewing's Tidal Shift range. I only finished the second half of the beer in the interests of science, and that's something I've never said about Bells Beach Brewing.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
