Our interpretation of a style lost in years past. A dark porter that is created to either fortify your thirst after a long voyage to foreign ports across salty seas or to simply be waiting on the bar after your walk across the road... your choice.

32 ounce growler, filled on 3/29/19. Served in a Three Tigers pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about a quarter inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long. However, the 2nd (and more aggressive) pour resulted in almost an inch head. There's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like chocolate malt, caramel, and herbal and citrusy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, with bittersweet chocolate, caramel, herbal hops, grapefruit, citrus peel and toffee flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a low/moderate amount of carbonation (probably would have been higher if I would have drank the crowler fresher). Overall I liked this hoppy porter, although I did like it more at the brewery when I tried it on tap there last weekend. Certainly worth a try if you make a visit there!
