Poured on tap at Unsung's Anaheim tap room.
Look: Golden glow. Mostly clear with that slight unclarity that is present with most APA/IPA.
Smell: Mmm citrusy and piney. Old school Pale Ale. Mostly lemon, actually. Which is a little unusual. Grapefruit, too. But then piney, especially further into consumption. What would you expect from Cascade and Centennial?
Taste: Pretty much exactly what I expected after smelling it. A wonderful mix of citrus and pine. Hop forward and hardly any hint of malt.
Feel: While the citrus is more prevalent in smell/taste, the classic piney bitterness is mostly present in the mouth feel. Such a good feeling for lovers of hoppy beer.
Overall: Definitely a throwback Pale. Reminiscent of legendary NW-style pales like Mirror Pond and Sierra Nevada, but a bit more citrus forward. One of my favorite APAs of late. Nice work, Unsung!
