On-tap at Third Window Brewing Co., Santa Barbara, CA
A: The beer is clear but dark red in color (brownish red when viewed from afar) and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of dark fruits and coffee are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark fruits—plums seem to stand out in particular—along with notes of coffee and hints of brown sugar and dark malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting hybrid between a Munich Dunkel Lager and a Schwartzbier and has some Belgian and American influences with the dark fruits and coffee.
Serving type: on-tap
