So I've never heard of Tower brewing company, and it kinda pains me to rip a new brewery but this is not a laid advertisement as DDB once kicked down (sic is intentional).
Pours a light amber color, looks lightly unfiltered, 1/2" white head, good retention. Aroma is all bittering hops and a heavy dose of maltiness. Assertions of dank hop notes fall flat.
If you thought the aroma was bad, the taste is even worse. Its an offputting bitterness. I used to crush the ibu war 100ibu shit like there was no tomorrow. But this isn't even a less than flattering soap and pine descriptor. Its worse. Do they make bitter caramel candy that expired 5 years ago? Well if they did, this would be the beer centric recreation of that "candy". Its a heavy malt, heavy bitterness, low flavor, low carbonation mouth feel.
This brewery seems to have taken on some of Rubicon's old beers. I'd absolutely check out their others because I feel bad about this one. How in the hell are you gonna compete in California when you deliver this as an ipa?

Quick review, drank straight from the can. Cool can, an homage to Tower Records. Canned date 02/27/20. Beer is straight dank. Dank aroma, and the taste confirms. The dankest beer I've had, easy, and not really in a good way. Very earthy, like a nugget of dirt weed was thrown in the can. Not a fan. Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Drinks easy enough, but the flavor is off-putting for a drinker like me who dislikes most pine and dank notes in their IPAs.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
