well, they got the raspberry part of this right. i find it confounding that they charge such astronomical prices for their beers, on par with the best wild ales available, yet they taste this amateur to me. at this price point, honestly, im not really willing to sit on hit for however long until its supposed to be mature or finished or whatever, this should be done at the brewery, not in my cellar for these prices. this one isnt bad, better than some others ive had, but really, its way off at this price tier. this one is pink and fizzy like a raspberry ginger ale, a little pinker. it has a little bit of cheesiness to the nose, but the sourness is there, despite the sort of unclean and unprofessional nature of the fermenting profile. the fruit is what saves it, its fresh raspberry, both sweet and tangy, and there is a lot of it here, like juiced berries at the peak of ripeness, straight up, i have no doubt that they used real fruit here. nice with the soft oak on it. the acid is too high and the flavor is too low though, there also is almost no grain character at all here, so its thin and almost runny feeling, even though it has pretty good carbonation. an off type of funk comes in for a second, maybe brett too hot, i dont know, but its unflattering. fortunately it doesnt last long before this thing is swept away by all the awesome raspberry, really the redeeming element in this one. i dont dislike the beer, but i absolutely hate it for this price. i need an order of magnitude quality improvement to justify buying another...
