i had such high hopes for these beers, colorado wild ales with good fruit, and priced like fine lambic, beautifully labelled too, how can this be so weak? a golden sour aged in zinfandel barrels with peaches, this should be so much better than it is. its amateur on the yeast side, overly developed lacto sourness, very little other flavor to it, no brett maturity, not enough character, and full of sweaty and cheesy elements, almost gross to the nose, but it tastes a little better. i get the tannins from the wine and the wood, both of which i like, but in this caustically acidic environment, both are undermined pretty immediately. whats more, is that the peaches are kind of faint, for how much of it them they claim to use in here. i smell the soft stone fruit, nice with the wine from the barrel, but i dont get much of it in the flavor, certainly not as much as i wanted out of it. it would be excusable to me if this was fermented all the way down to dry, but it isnt, and a now unwelcome generic sweetness is still there in the finish. for the kind of money they ask for these beers, they straight up need to be higher quality, i feel duped, and others should too. there is so much better beer in this style out there for better prices. if they dont come down or i dont hear something has changed, i am highly unlikely to be back for more of their stuff. this was a serious let down, homebrewy and sloppy. i get that its process intensive, but maybe they should start with a pale ale and get the basics down...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
