The beer was inspired by Mitch's long journey from CO to MI on his forklift. Some say he drove it the whole way. Others say the forklift has magical powers and flew high above your peasant minds. To this day tales of his journey are told to young wide eyed brewers while standing around barrel stacks. Many say they are simply fairytales, some claim to have witnessed them first hand. All we know for sure is that the legend of Mitch and his forklift will forever live in the darkest cobweb covered corners of barrel rooms around the world.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2018 vintage bottling. Pours lightly cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy cranberries, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cranberries, oak barrels, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy cranberries, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy cranberries, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cranberries, oak barrels, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with minimal puckering flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, acidic/tangy/tannic, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour/wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cranberries, oak barrels, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the moderately increasing acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish, not overly lactic. Outstanding balance of jammy cranberries, Brett/Bacteria complexity, oak barrels, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected.
