Ok first of all, I know that I have entitled this beer as the "Amber Ale" and that I have classified it as an "American Pale Ale" BUT at the Brewpub it will be called an Amber ale, but after I have had around 8 people taste it, we are in agreement that this is a Pale Ale.
After the Little River Pale Ale was transferred from the tap to my growler, it made its trip to Clemson, South Carolina where it was placed in my refrigerator for two days. Finally, the beer descended from its vessel into my pint glass ready to be enjoyed. It erupted with a frothy just off white head crowning a cloudy dark golden body. The head holds on for a bit but eventually dissipates to just wisps of foam leaving traces of lace. The aroma bursts forth with a slight malty sweetness but is dominated by the smell of citrusy and piney hops. The flavor hits you more first off with the sweetness but the hops come through in the end, asking you to take another sip. There is a lighter medium body with some nice carbonation, and just an overall smooth feel from the weeks of cold conditioning. Overall its a nice offering from Little River. You can count on most of brewer Randy Davis' brews to please your taste buds.
