Dark brown body with an average, frothy, tan head, mostly diminishing with a fair lacing.
Aroma of roasted malt with notes of caramerl, prune, licorice and maybe some coffee.
Light sweet flavour balanced by a moderate bitter note.
Light-to-medium body with a watery texture; soft carbonation.

330ml bottle from Moneo restaurant, Rovinj, Croatia (25 kuna):
Quite an enjoyable beer from Laško & one I'm very pleased to have tried, there was a very nice dark roasted malt flavour with good sweetness & the odd milky taste coming through that all worked well together. The balance of the beer was a good one & it proved very easy to drink, it's definitely one I'd order again when in the region.

Now as Lasko Dark, 5.9%.
Brown-ruby pour, small white head, no traces.
Smell of roasted malts, a bit of smoke, faint dry dark fruit.
Starts with a bit of dark fruit, a bit of spice and burnt sugar, ends with some roasted grains.
Medium body and carbonation, nothing to complain about.
More like a benchmark, nothing to say against it, but also nothing to set it apart. Very nice anyway.

Pours a good looking dark brown, almost completely black color and a small beige head with weak retention.
The aroma is pleasantly roasted with some coffee and feels slightly dusty. The taste has some roastiness and is slightly sweet (no coffee taste, I like it), turning into a bittery finish. Easy to drink and just enough taste.
Thumbs up.
