Palate Contaminants: other beer
Look is brownish-orange. Not much head, therefore not much lacing. Fairly clear.
Smell reminds me of anise, with orange and tea. It's not very strong, unfortunately. Might be better warmer.
The initial taste matches the smell, but then it turns very woodsy. I almost wonder if it would make a good marinade, if reduced. Again, it's not particularly strong, athough it would make a great session beer. Light sweetness, hardly any bitterness. Hoppy, but not even close to any of the hammers that have become in-style. It might complement a meal that included fried meat.
Medium weight. Slightly prickly carbonation with a swish. Aftertaste is almost as strong as the taste, so maybe I did start off too cold.
