Reviewed from notes taken in Tallinn in Summer 2014.
Black IPA. 6.50% ABV. Cost was 4 euro for a 33cl bottle at a bar. Served into a stem-tulip.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: 2 fingers worth of milky off-white foam. Nice creaminess and thickness. Great soft complexion. Smooth. Good (~5 minute) retention. Spotty inconsistent lacing clings to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.
BODY: Opaque solid black. No yeast or sediment is visible within.
Overall, it's appealing, though not unique or special given its style.
AROMA: Schwarz malts, cream, dark malts, piney hop aromatics. Evergreen/tree-redolent hop notes. Some moderate sweetness. Doesn't seem all that well balanced. I don't find any roasted barley.
A pleasant aroma of mild strength.
TASTE: Dark malts, piney hops, evergreen-redolent hop flavour. Quite simple in build, and not a gestalt harmonious whole of a brew. I do like it, but it suffers from fundamental imbalance, lacking an equal standoff of dark malt sweetness and hoppy bitterness.
Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, slightly creamy, medium-bodied. Adequately carbonated. Suits the taste well.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
OVERALL: Drinkable and enjoyable in spite of its imbalance. I like it in spite of its shortcomings, but it's just not great within the intended style, suffering from simplicity and lackluster hop selection.

Really dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has lots of chocolate, dark malts, brownies but also lots of hops with resiny notes. Taste starts with herbal hops, pine resin and continues with coffee, chocolate, dark malts and finishes with a light bitterness. Medium to full bodied, quite creamy with soft carbonation. Really tasty and easy to drink black IPA.
