Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, foamy/creamy head. Smells of roasted malt, coffee and raspberry, with a hint of tobacco. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by roasted malt, coffee and slightly acidic raspberry, with hints of chocolate, tobacco and a certain herbal/spicy note. Finishes with a light bitterness and some raspberry and tobacco lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
The coffee is almost more prevalent here than the eponymous raspberry, which creates a rather nice harmony of roasted malt, coffee and raspberry though. Great balance of roasted, bitter, sweet and tart notes. Very enjoyable.
