The beer pours a deep dark black color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a dry, black malt scent that is rich and earthy. This version of the stout was said to be an Imperial Stout, not an Oatmeal Stout as previously posted. The taste is good also. It has a dry and earthy black patent and chocolate malt flavor that goes down easy and warms on the finish. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a pretty good IS. It's rich with flavor and drinks well.

best beer in the stable, still went down smothly despite the hot weather (july 15th) went great with my ostrich cutlets. Nice thick viscousity& malts attack. Head retention was inequate for a nitro tap fed beer. This is a beer style not often represented in the springs with frequency. A great example of how to leverage abv & taste in the low to mid range.

what more can I sat other than, get some!

Overall this was a very nice little stout with some nice complexity. The stout was properly deep black, and in this case had just a hint of red. Poured with a modest head that hung around pretty well with a bit of lace. The smell was rich with molasses, but also a bit smoky. The taste started with nice sweet molasses that graded into a bit of roasted graininess where it became evident that this was an oatmeal stout and finished a bit drier with just a hint of hop bitterness. Good fairly thick body and moderate level of carbonation were also satisfactory. This was a tasty and warming beer that I have no complaints about.

wow. This officially qualifies as the strangest stout I have ever tasted. I have had a lot of oatmeal stout, but this is REALLY different. There was a great head of foam which settled after 10 minutes into some sticky lacing on the sides that remained permanently. The aroma was a gentle blend of raisins and molasses. The initial taste was like drinking a thin syrup made of malt, sweet coffee and dates. The middle was mellow and lightly carbonated. The sweetness disappeared quickly, leaving a nice dry aftertaste. This one is seasonal, so hurry on down before it's gone!
