Black color. One-finger thick off-white head. Gingerbread, chocolate, roasted malt, and cinnamon in the aroma. Moderately sweet, malty taste with spices and roasted bitterness.

11.16 ounce can, best before 01/25/2024. Welp, let's see how this one aged! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like ginger, roasted malt, cinnamon, nutmeg and some apples. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some chocolate and dark bready flavors noticeable too. The ginger stands out to me, but doesn't overwhelm the other flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit rich with a moderate amount of carbonation. I have to say this aged well enough, I liked this one. Recommended more to people who like ginger and/or Christmas brews!

L: Jet black color, two finger brown head, messy lacing, light carbonation. I could say it's one of the worst looking RIS I've seen.
S: Ginger, cinnamon, banana, spicy, sweet.
T: Ginger, cinnamon, banana, spicy, sweet, tons of alcohol. Quite interesting.
F: Full bodied, full flavored.
O: Super heavy RIS on an interesting experiment.

Dense black appearance with dark brown marks on the glass and medium but consistent collar.
Smell of cinnamon, cloves, ripe apples.
The first impression is of the Christmas drink, like mulled wine with spices ... then the stout body becomes more obvious, with coffee in the aftertaste. About the same flavors as in the smell, plus the spiciness of ginger and some chocolate.
It does not have a dense body like the old Koschei and is quite acidic. Insensitive alcohol.
Interesting and pleasant, but it seems to have lost the character of a real RIS.
