330ml brown glass bottle with a black unbranded pry-off crown cap purchased at an outdoor market in Lisbon. Has a white label.
5.0% ABV. Honey beer.
Smells of raw wort-like sweetness and little else.
Smells and drinks like an overly sweet malty lager, lacking the rich vivid honey notes found in the best Baltic expressions of the honey beer style. Blonde malts lend this it sweet backbone, with an almost cloying finish. I doubt anyone would attribute its high sweetness to actual honey in a blind tasting. Hop character is mild; grassy and floral character is all I pick up on.
Imbalanced and badly built, though its taste isn't unpleasant. Drinkability is limited by its sweetness.
Not a beer I'd recommend to others. More a novelty brew meant to showcase the company's honey. I'd much sooner go for Baltic (especially Estonian) offerings in this style.
