Poured into a BrewDog snifter.
A: Body is copper and medium opaque. Some light runs through it but it's not crystalline as the end of the spectrum. Cool colour and opaqueness. Head is beige, there's not much than 2mm of head but it shows good retention for a 9.5% ABV barleywine, for which all of the head should've gone by now.
S: Aroma is mostly malty as there's really no other tones in the back. It's very straightforward and was expecting a lot more sweetness in the aroma.
T: Taste, on the other end, starts more sweet with something between toffee and belgian candi, having a real basic sweetness that powers the rest of the beer. Ahead, you find more malty tones, a drip coffee tone as if you get a more watery coffee that enhances more fruity, herbal and grassy tones but not the roasted ones. In the end, that's when you get the alcohol kick which is very prominent. You also get more sweetness and that's pretty much it. It starts well but it doesn't end well.
M: Body is medium to high. Carbonation is good. Alcohol is way to prominent. Sweetness is too high.
O: Could use better aroma and better finish. Still good.
