Taster at brewery. Dark brown pour, roasty aroma, sweet. Taste brings hints of coffee and chocolate. Bitter but with a fair amount of sweetness

Pours a beautiful black color. There's a lot of carbonation to this pour, that resulted in a 4 finger tan head. The retention was pretty good, though there's really no lacing on the glass.
The nose is not too strong. There's a bit of a malty biscuit aroma here. Some chocolate, and coffee as well.
Taste - Nice roasty malt flavor here. There's chocolate notes. There's coffee, as well.
Some alcohol burn going on here, but not too strong. The body is fairly thick.
Delicious beer, and a pleasure to try.

32oz crowler purchased at the north Spokane Growler Guys for $. This was supposed to go to my target in the current NBS BIF, but I dropped it and broke the seal, necessitating it's quick dispatch by yours truly. Lonely are the brave. I don't know if this is a rotating option or a fall seasonal. I do know Post Falls has brewed it more than once.
Poured into a 12oz mug, this was a Stygian black, impenetrable to light. Bog, creamy khaki head that left lots of lace.
Coffee and roasted dark malts greet the nose. Smells a bit like what coffee ice cream might smell like if it were made with dark, bitter chocolate.
Coffee leads the taste parade, backed with a bitter, roasty sweetness. That sweetness is somewhere between molasses and dark chocolate. Finish is fairly dry. The high abv does not come through in the taste, so imbiber beware!
Full bodied, thick, sticky, yet dry mouthfeel. It may be an imperial, adjunct porter, but it's still a porter.
This is an outstanding dessert or nightcap beer, which is what I'm essentially using it as. Much as I regret dropping and cracking the crowler, this hits the spot on a rainy, fall-like Spokane late summer evening. My only problem is that I have actual things to do when I finish it off, and I may not be able to do so!
