Taster at brewery. Pale golden pour, kind of flat, a few bubbles. Light fruity, floral aroma. Light malty flavors, mild sweetness, crisp finish . Very light overall

a pretty decent kolsch here, nice on a sunny afternoon at their taproom with the breeze blowing gently through, summery trying to hang on. its perfectly clear and quite radiant in the glass, under an inch of delicate white head that settles back slowly, fizzy like a soda too. aroma here is clean, a touch of light malt sweetness and dry crackery character, and some earthy minerals as well, the german yeast is obvious, as is a cold conditioning thats really crisped this up. the flavor brings a little bit of grassy hoppiness to the mix, but also a mild ester from the yeast, a touch doughy to me for a second, light pear and citrus notes in the center, but back to dry and lightly bitter at the finish. the mineral profile of the water comes through nicely, and all the carbonation makes it fast drinking and refreshing, even though its not quite perfect. this might have just a little more body to it than the best of them, and maybe not quite as much of a european malt complexion, but everything is just about there, and i like the fermentation profile this has, it works. for a little small town operation, these guys are turning out some pretty nice beers, i liked everything i had in here when i visited, and their space is awesome!
