i have liked just about all the beers ive had from these guys, but they seem especially capable when it comes to the hoppy stuff, and this is another good one in that range. its mostly clear, full luster golden colored, with a frothy white head and patchy lace as it drinks. it smells somewhat conventional in terms of the hop profile, but its freshness is obvious, the fermentation seems to be mighty clean, and the balance is definitely there, with a light but appreciable crystal malt element in here, and some minerals as well. pine and orange to me from the hops, quite northwestern and oily as well, with some decent bitterness on the back end, landing on the center of the tongue. i get a little pop of lemon rind, a quick herbal note, and then more pine character. its clean for being as bold as it is, and everything about it is really well refined. i think there probably has to be some simcoe in here, but im not totally sure what the hops are. either way, its a nice drinking ipa, professionally done, and while maybe not the most interesting one out there, definitely of quality and very versatile. post falls is doing some good stuff!
