their wet hop ipa, which based on the name, i assume has to use three wet hops, and if i had to guess, i would posit them being citra, simcoe, and mosaic, although i only think this because of their popularity in the region and their common use together as a group of three in ipa types across the map, but there is little in the beer to base this assumption on, as i found it overwhelmingly mild as these go, especially when i had it next to a couple of other significantly more robust wet hop types, including the head full from fremont, which is probably the most flavorful one of these i have had this year, if not ever. this isnt bad beer, it just doesnt stand up to something like that in terms of flavor, quality, or uniqueness, in fact, its probably real unfair to even consider this next to that, but that was the reality of my session. the hops seem incredibly mild in aroma and flavor, a little grassiness, a hint of orange, but even a little crackery pale malt makes this seem more balanced than hop driven, perhaps too delicate to really be a great showcase of these hops, but the beer is well rounded and drinkable in its lightness, it just doesnt scream fresh hops to me at all. maybe a little hint of pineapple, not much else at the end. i like the beer, its simple and clean, and the lighter malt base is fine, i just think the hops could stand to be ramped up a bit. not their most compelling beer ive had so far...
