Taster at brewery. Pale, hazy golden. Skin of fine head. Aroma is grainy and malty, floral notes. Taste adds light notes of citrus, zest, grains. Smooth with a gentlw bitterness.

16oz can

A pretty aggressive pour yields two big fingers of creamy white head into my willi becher. Retention is pretty good, holding up with a nice layer of head after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks great. Body is hazy but not as solid in color as some, light gets through. Looks very nice so far.

The nose has quite a bit going on. Some light sugars. Dank hops, maybe even a little earthy. Fruity as well - grapefruit, some guava, citrus zest. While the citrus zest takes over at some points, I keep coming back to this nice creamy character – it would seem as if another brewery might be figuring out the balance between making a hazy and actual beer, nice dichotomy and balance. Might be getting a good amount of points for depth and complexity, but either way – quite nice.

Flavor is very citrus forward up front. Gooseberries & melon hide in rearview and then smooth out the finish nicely, along with some toned-down orange. This is super tasty, and god damn does this bridge the gap between hazy and filtered nicely. You don’t get that overwhelming protein character hazies have, but you do get a nice smooth body; though somehow it’s still crisp, and that lets the hops shine more than other hazies. Well done.

Continuing that thought, the mouthfeel is handled just as well. Smooth and crisp at the same time. Medium body. Light malt sweetness. Bitterness is moderate, but very noticeable. Carbonation is maybe a tad on the low side, but not a big deal. Very good mouthfeel.

Drinkability is not a problem here.

Appearance turned out very nice. Extremely thick lacing, and an island of head all the way down.

Really a well-rounded beer from start to finish. Nothing too fancy with the flavor, but it checks all the boxes. The appearance and mouthfeel are dialed in, you don’t lose very much at all from the nose to flavor, and it’s a great example of how hazies should be made - moderately.

To note - way better than I remember it being only 2 days ago, I guess it helps to pay attention to what you’re drinking.

L: Slightly unfiltered golden orange with a couple-finger tight white froth. Above average retention and some spotty lacing.

S: Passionfruit and citrus, mineral, floral, and spirits as well on the nose.

T: Impressively passionfruit forward. Tangerine also in the blend, overall it falls into this one note.

F: Thinner side of medium weight, a little undercarbonated for my liking.

O: A pretty decent offer. I enjoyed it. Stood out with the passionfruit but that is not reason enough for me to choose it again.
