Canned 4/7/23. “I drink it every morning so I can fight like a crow” stamped on the bottom of the can
Is Cold IPA even a thing anymore? I feel like it was all the rage for 8 months then dropped off sharply. I quite enjoyed the few I had, so when I saw this one on Tavour I figured it’d be worth a shot, especially since I really enjoyed the only other beer I had from Wayfinder. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a clear yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is fine but a bit basic, not much that really screams Cold IPA. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon zest, earthy hops, bready malt, pithy grapefruit, white pepper, grass, and orange zest
It’s a bit more expressive in taste, though still pretty much just a WCIPA. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting crackery malt, herbal hops, white pepper, lemon zest, red grapefruit, lemongrass, light honey, and grass. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, earthy hops, red grapefruit, lemongrass, pineapple juice, white pepper, and light grass
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes neutral with a firm bitterness
It’s nothing amazing ot groundbreaking, but quite good overall

Can dated April 7th. Attractive pour: bright and clear yellow-amber, bit of a haze. A finger or two of solid head. Aroma is a mild floral with a bit of fruit. Taste has more to remark upon. We get a healthy dose of hop flavor up-front with prominent bitterness and a long finish. Flavors include stone fruit and a hint of dankness. A refreshing beer with a well-hidden 7.5% ABV. It's quite good. We think the whole "cold-IPA" thing may have settled down now and has a chance to show some positive results.

16oz can
Pours nearly two fingers of white head into my Willi glass. Retention is above average, after a few minutes there is still a small sturdy head. Initial lacing looks pretty solid. Body is yellow, clear, with a good amount of bubbles coming up.
Nose is tropical - mango, papaya, mandarin oranges, light citrus rind. Very nice.
Flavor is less tropical, and more….neutral? Gooseberries, maybe some pine. Very heavy on the nose, and it doesn’t really translate to the flavor.
Carbonation is medium, there is a nice hop bite that adds some life as well. Light-medium bodied. Bitterness is medium-low. Not sweet nor dry, well balanced. The “Cold IPA-ness” certainly shines. A solid mouthfeel.
Drinkability is great.
Appearance turned out nice. The head eventually dissipated to whispers of a film, but the lacing was pretty good.
Overall good, but it falls victim to the classic IPA “huge nose, moderate flavor” problem.

Clear bright yellow with plenty of foam in the Timmermans goblet. Spritzy and lush in the mouth. Medium body. Lemony aroma with grain and bread. Quite citrusy in flavor with a grapefruit peel finish.
This is a very decent hoppy brew with bold taste and agressive bitterness. From the 16 oz can purchased at Garden Path. Dated 04/11/22.
