Belmont 1997 is a pale, hoppy and sessionable ale meant for quaffing all evening after 3 o’clock tea. Made with finest marris otter and bright crystal malt to a very mild body. It’s hopped vigorously with Fuggles and first gold hops. Lightly carbonated and slightly fruity, this beer goes great with wholesome food after a hard day’s work.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy amber pour, foamy head fades to thin layer. Malty aroma, brown bread. Taste is toasted malts, bready, bran muffin. Light sweetness with a mild zippy finish.

Clear, honey-colored body; decent carbonation; thick, frothy head, lasting. Light caramel malt aroma; herbal with a touch of metallic back note. Mild to moderate caramel flavor; relatively light hop bitterness yet long lasting; Medium body; gentle coarseness on the palate; moderate sense of dryness.
A good moderately malty ale, balancing things with a deft touch of overall sweetness and offsetting hop bitterness.
Pouring temperature: 44.2 ℉; canning data: HAPPY 25TH 04/11/22

16oz can
Pours a finger of white head into my Nonic glass. Retention is average and the head fades within a minute or two. Initial lacing looks decent. Body is burnt orange, pretty clear, with a minimal amount of bubbles coming up. Looks fine so far.
Nose is bursting with character. Bready, mild nuttiness, faint caramel, very faint esters. Smells great.
Flavor is hop forward - slightly floral which makes for a delicate palette, caramel and esters hide in the background. Not much in the way of breadiness. The flavor is definitely lighter than the nose, but it works in its own way - it’s quite clean.
Carbonation is medium, but the beer is quite lively. There is a slight mineral quality to it as well. It's pretty light bodied, until a little shows in the finish. Bitterness is low-medium. A touch of perceived sweetness, but generally finishes dry. Overall an appropriate mouthfeel, maybe a touch light for my taste.
Drinkability is good. This drinks light and it isn't remotely cloying.
Appearance turned out ok. The head died and the lacing was very webbed, but present.
Overall this is a nice beer. A little light for me in flavor and body, but it works for what it is.

Pours a handsome dark amber with a brief coarse foam in the chalice. The carbonation is lively and adds to the quaffability, but it does give the stuff some club soda taste. Warm and grainy, crackers and browned biscuits. Rather a lot of hop flavor in the herbal vein. A little dark fruit to finish.
This is actually quite decent and makes for a nice change at the lighter ABV end of the spectrum. Just a slight bitter aftertaste. From the 16 oz can purchased at Graden Path. Dated 04/11/22.

Clear golden orange body with two fingers of white foam. Crystal malt with dry yeast, citrus and leafy hops make up the nose. Taste has a mineral water undercurrent that I am not sure adds to what the nose had going. It is a solid bitter but the body is a little watery in the middle, more pale than most in the US, clean and decent carb.

Can from Belmont Station.
A clear copper with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing. The nose has a blend of biscuit, butterscotch, toffee and a nice, earthy, leafy hop character. A lightly fruity yeast character is present too. The palate opens mildly bitter with a nice blend of toffee, light fruits, light toast, a rich malt depth that's light in body. Higher carbonation than ideal. Drying, clean finish with lingering hop and fruit. Tasty.
