16oz can
Pours a finger of white head into my Willi. Retention is pretty good. Lacing is patchy at best. Body is golden yellow, crystal clear, with almost no nucleation. Looks ok.
Nose is stupid zesty/cat pissy, and very earthy. Feels very southern hemisphere. Not getting any of the Strata characteristics I would think of, but I’m not super familiar. Not my kind of hop profile.
Flavor doesn’t have too much earthiness, but it’s plenty catty, even reminiscent of vitamin C. Doesn’t taste like a fresh hop beer, none of that “green” characteristic. I just don’t see how this is all that enjoyable.
Carbonation is somewhat high. Body is light, but the carbonation provides some weight. Bitterness is moderate. No sweetness. Mouthfeel is good.
Drinkability is fine.
It’s a clean lager, but the hop profile really sinks things.

Pale straw / amber, frothy head, bright appearance. Light floral nose. Taste is hoppy and you can taste that certain "forwardness" of a good fresh hop beer. Glad to see a lager in the FH crowd, given the extended time it takes to lager the beer before it's released. Hope to find it in next year's FH scramble. Overall, we'd rate this a good exa ple of a northern German full-malt lager.
