This popular light ale is the lightest of the McGuire's beers. McGuire's Old Fashioned Ale is similar to but a step up from ordinary American factory beer.

A - Straw-yellow, clear, and fizzy, with a smallish white head. Unfortunately served in a dishwater-ice encrusted frosted mug. I hate that.
S - The nose is like nothing at all. Success!
T - The taste is between water and beer; again, success! In all seriousness, there is very little flavor to this brew, as intended. What flavor there is consists of slight mineral notes and some grain, balanced by bitterness not discernible as any specific hop contribution.
M - Very light. Success, again!
O - Lawnmower steez at its typical finest.

Pours a clear, pale yellow color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, yeast, and some grain. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, yeast, and slight grain. Overall, a slightly below average blonde.

Another concession that the brewery must make to manage a wide-range appeal - this is the "tolerable to the bud light crowd" beer. As light beers go, this was a pretty well executed beer, particulary for an ale, which is harder to dumb-down than a lager without going too sweet. Light body and color, with some light grain sweetness. Finished up with a touch of citric acidity that dried out nicely.
