This popular light ale is the lightest of the McGuire’s beers. McGuire’s Old Fashioned Ale is similar to, but a step up from, ordinary American factory beer.

Had this one at dinner on the last night in Destin, FL for aasher’s wedding! Served from tap into a sampler shooter. Poured a pale golden yellow with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, subtle skunk, and subtle lemon rine. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, water, and very subtle citrus. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty average brew. Another watered down brew… Sigh. The flavor on this one had quite a bit of potential, but the good aspects were so subdued that it killed the enjoyable components quite a bit. The skunk in the aroma was its downfall unfortunately. Worth trying for the sole purpose of ticking it, but I would leave it at that.

An old traditional fine ale. This one arrived in a clear mug with a one finger white head. It's a very pale and very, very light in body. The nose is barely different than water. There's a touch of pale malt and a touch of lemon rhind and that's it, as expected. The flavors follow suit. It's a water dominated beer with very light flavor but extreme drinkability because of it. This is an old timed version of BMC. I'm ok with it.
