Had on tap. Darker chestnut brown with a finger of brown foam. Smell has maple but not in an adjunct overpowering way, rather it compliments the bitter chocolate, smoke, wet wood, molasses, and caramel underneath. Taste is artful in this way too, more bourbon presence here but otherwise pretty similar, finishes strong with the maple and underlying malts. Dry for a brown, but that works for me to make it more woodsy and rustic, maple a good contrast, booze is not too potent. Agreed with my fellow reviewer, great beer for autumn

Served in a snifter at the brewery
A: Dark brown, just a whips of a head
S: Chocolate malt, caramel, a hint of maple
T: Lots of Caramel, more maple here, rich malts
M: Full-bodied, drier than I expected, hides the 9% well
O: A pleasant fall beer
