500 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. 2017 edition, had 3/14/19.
Pours a darker amber, somewhat opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head with good retention and lots of foamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, figs, brandy, bourbon, tobacco, malt, some chocolate, toffee, some plums, light vanilla. Rum and a nutty aroma as it warms. Smells terrific. Flavors of brandy, caramel, figs, bourbon, malt, dates, plums, tobacco, vanilla, light brown sugar and chocolate. Has a nutty flavor- more as it warms. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
All the barrels show well, but aren’t overpowering. Terrific aroma, great flavor, layered and complex. Really enjoyable, a solid effort.

I shared a bottle of this with my colleague at the brewery. It poured a nearly opaque dark with tan head that left some lace. The scent had sweet bread hints and touch of nuttiness. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip. There was rich sweet malt base and some pecan flare. The mouthfeel was fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.
