my first ever beer from these guys and i thought it was amazing, some of the most natural pineapple character i have had in any beer, definitely real fruit in here. i couldnt believe how mature it was either, a nice dry bretty funk to it, a light bacterial tang, and tons of oak on it, with a lot of the white wine coming through in the flavor as well, really light and summery and delicious, like a wild fermented vacation in a glass, how have i never heard of these guys before?! nice spritzing head on the pale, slightly frosted looking brew, aroma of sweet fresh pineapple and a little bit of the juice from the can, sweet and distinctive, tropical, awesome. the white grapes in the chardonnay are there too, sharp and tart, with plenty of oak, vanilla, yellow plum, and even a little pine or spruce, all so well integrated. the pineapple lingers in the finish, so awesome with the brett, and there is a soda sort of mouthfeel to it, some body from the fruit more than the grain it seems, and high, big bubbled carbonation. this was really great beer, took me somewhere. i will try to make it to check these guys out next time i am in chicago. this was inspired and delicious! awesome funkiness and wild character, lots and lots of pineapple.
