Melon Mint Flamingo

an earthy, wheaty, and tart berliner here, done with melon and mint to finish. looks like they do quite a few of these, but this combination of ingredients is awesome, and fits with their mexican theme in here, sort of an agua fresca vibe to this drink, with an almost watermelon aspect from the melon, and a crazy freshness from the mint that doesnt really come on until the very end, and even so, subtle then, but important. the sourness is clean in taste and moderate in intensity, and this never gets to be anything too acidic, refreshing really. there is great freshness to the melon and mint, and the wheat keeps it beery enough for me. i think its a nice berliner on its own, which is really important, no amount of fruit can cover up a bad one, so the sort of relaxed additives in this allow the higher quality base beer to still stand out. some sweetness remains, this is off dry, but i like the flavor of it and wouldnt change it. nice carbonation too, very summery and flavorful, and probably amazing with the spicy tacos in here! im already stoked to go back to this place! fun combination of flavors in a well made berliner here.
