Imperial stout aged in rye whiskey barrels with coconut, pecans and canela.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Late 2019 release, had 2/26/21.
Pours near black and opaque, thick looking, with a quarter inch brief head and no real lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, pecans, coconut, chocolate, some rye whiskey, malt, hint of licorice. Similar flavors- cinnamon, rye whiskey, chocolate, roasted malt, coconut, some pecans, light licorice. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
The cinnamon hits you up front and is the most prominent, but the pecans and coconut show well, too. The barrels are restrained, but are really good and impactful. Well balanced overall. Very enjoyable, as all of CB’s barrel aged efforts are.
